            Moving Ahead With "Two In A Vineyard"
We have just gotten approval to travel to one of the World's oldest wine making countries. Cyprus is a land full of history, culture and amazing geography. We will be leaving for Cyprus on September 15th through the 22nd filming/articles.
On November 2nd we will be visiting the vineyards and wineries of Virginia, U.S.A.

About Chuck Byers
      Chuck Byers is a wine writer and consultant with over thirty years experience in the wine trade. A member of the Wine Writers' Circle Of Canada, he has authored several books about wine and has done wine columns for the Oshawa News, the Courtice News, the Bowmanville Gazzette, This Week, The Durham Post, Durham Life and Metroland’s West and Centre of the City magazines. He  presently writes regular articles in East of the City Magazine, CIRCA---Magazine for Women, Home and Decor Magazine various internet sites.   
  In addition to ‘Rendezvous for Dinner’  he has  authored two books on the subject: ‘A Taste Of Durham’ and  ‘A Matter Of Taste’.
      Chuck has produced and hosted two very successful television programs; “The Wine Companions’ and ‘Wine Dining’ both for the Rogers Network and has appeared as a guest on television programs such as ‘Daytime’,‘Durham Living’ and CFTO television.  He did a wine, food and restaurant review every week on CHEX TV’s ‘First Take’ with Dan Carter.  The television program ‘One on One’, featured a program based on Chuck’s experiences  with and contributions to the  Canadian Wine Industry and Wine in general.
      In association with Peter Mielzynski Agencies, Purveyors of Fine Wines and Spirits, Chuck has appeared as a regular guest on ‘Lifetime Durham’ with host Al Nichols. He will be appearing as a  monthly wine & spirits commentator in  the Rogers Television series ‘Daytime’.    
      A frequent lecturer at Hospitality Schools such as the Toronto School of Business and Trillium College, Chuck has done a great deal of charity work, speaking at various social and charitable functions held by businesses and other associations throughout the region. His donations of rare wines to such events as: YWCA/Women of Distinction,The Chairman’s Classic Auction, The Parkwood Foundation, The Wine Oscars,  The Rotary Club Charity Auction, The University of Ontario Gala and a host of other fund raisers has resulted in much assistance to both needy individuals and organizations.   
      Well known in the wine industry by many vineyard owners and wine makers in Australia, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, California, Italy, New Zealand and South Africa, Chuck has a particular fondness for the wines of  Canada and their potential world wide.
      Chuck visited regularly with  American Icon Fess Parker (Davy Crockett/Daniel Boone) at his resort and vineyards in Los Olivos (Santa Barbara) California. The resulting article “Exploring Santa Barbara’s Wine Frontier” was published by East of the City. A television  program  “Wine Frontier” based on that same visit has been selected for viewing in Cannes by a European distributor. On another visit, he went to Portugal as a guest of the Portugese Government. 
      In other activities, Chuck has entertained many dignitaries such as the late President Ronald Reagan, Prince Charles and the late Cardinal
  Carter,Archbishop of Toronto at functions in various cities. With famed chef Kay Spicer, he has done specialized food and wine tastings for the Canadian Diabetes Society. He recently had dinner with famed race car driver Mario Andretti who recently purchased a winery in Napa.
      Chuck possesses diplomas and certificates from such establishments as the Italian Trade Commission, Italian Wine Centre, Friends of Wine   and University of Guelph Among his many other interests are: Fitness, Geography, History, Cuisine and Tropical Fish. Chuck has won prizes for his Aquarium and Pond construction and decor and is a Black Belt practitioner in the Art of Judo. 
      Chuck presently spends most of his time tending his wine consulting business, giving tours to various wineries across Niagara and writing about wine and food. He performs wine and food tastings at a number of restaurants in the GTA .  One of his projects is an information series about different aspects of wine for a Texas based internet company called “Expert Village”. Chuck's last project was a  13 week television series CBC affiliate CHEX Channel 12 called "Adventures In Wine Country".
      Chuck is now filming a new series called "Two In A Vineyard" with new co-host Sandie Kraft. On location in spots like Austria, Brazil, Hungary, Quebec, Prince Edward Island, Prince Edward County, Niagara, Pelee Island, Lake Erie North Shore, Durham Region and other parts of Ontario, the show will feature new wines, regions and wine venues to interest many viewers.  Check out the website at www.twoinavineyard.com
